Travel dates for this weekend are Thursday-Monday. Transportation data company INRIX predicts that the busiest days will be Thursday and Friday from 3-6 p.m., and Monday from noon-3 p.m.
The lightest traffic days will be Saturday and Sunday, INRIX and AAA predicted. Tuesday, May 30 is expected to be a busy travel day in the evening rush hour.
More than 37 million people will hit the road for Memorial Day across the United States, according to AAA.
“This is expected to be the third busiest Memorial Day weekend since 2000, when AAA started tracking holiday travel,” said Paula Twidale, Senior Vice President of AAA Travel. “More Americans are planning trips and booking them earlier, despite inflation. This summer travel season could be one for the record books, especially at airports.”
