These Are The Best School Districts In Suburban Philly, New Ranking Says

The study is a holistic look at the entire school district experience, from K-12.

One of the most important considerations of suburban Philly parents when choosing a place to live is the quality of the school district.

According to the 2026 Best School Districts in America list recently released by the education ranking service Niche, the best school district in the greater Philadelphia area is Radnor Township.

"Overall teachers have high quality in the schools," one reviewer notes. "Very much student-focused learning. Many club opportunities in high school. Competitive sports."

A total of 42 schools from the Philly region scored at least an "A-" or better. The vast majority were from Montgomery, Chester, Delaware, and Bucks counties, though four South Jersey districts and one Delaware district also made the cut.

These rankings are distinct from recent analyses from Niche in that they evaluate the entire district, including grades K-12, and are not exclusively focused on high school.

Niche said its rankings, now in the 11th year, differ from others that rely almost exclusively on test scores and academic performance in that it also includes input from students, alumni and parents, as well as quantitative data from sources such as the U.S. Department of Education to evaluate teachers, resources and facilities.
