'Widespread Snowfall' This Week In Eastern PA: See Timing, Totals

"Widespread snowfall" is expected across Eastern Pennsylvania this week, forecasters said.

Snow is expected to begin by Tuesday evening, and will end by early Wednesday. As much as 4 inches could fall in Philadelphia, forecasters predicted Monday. Accumulation will be lower north of the city, with 2 inches predicted in northern Bucks County.

Additional snow or a wintry mix is possible near and northwest of I-95 on Wednesday night.

The snow could impact the Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning commutes, the National Weather Service warned.

"The exact storm track and intensity remains uncertain," the National Weather Service said in its Monday morning briefing.

Forecasters are also warning of the possibility for more winter weather over the upcoming weekend.

"Looking ahead to the upcoming weekend, forecasters are highlighting the risk for another storm to develop across the Central states before trudging across the east, bringing potentially another round of impactful weather across the nation," according to AccuWeather.

Today: Sunny, with a high near 37. Northwest wind around 10 mph.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 21. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Tuesday: A chance of snow, mainly after 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 34. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Tuesday night: Snow, mainly after 7pm. Low around 26. Calm wind becoming northeast around 5 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Wednesday: Snow likely, mainly before 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 34. East wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Wednesday night: Snow and sleet before 4am, then rain. Low around 30. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Thursday: Rain, mainly before 7am. High near 44. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Thursday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 22.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 35.

Friday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 21.

Saturday: Rain, snow, and sleet likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 39. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
