2 Women Dead, 1 Injured After New Year's Eve Crash In Whitpain Twp.

WHITPAIN TOWNSHIP, PA — Two elderly women were killed and one was injured when they were struck by a vehicle in Whitpain Township on New Year's Eve, officials said.

The incident occurred on Dec. 31 at around 6:30 p.m. on Butler Pike near the Skippack Pike intersection.

The fatal victims were both women. One was 82 and the other was 79, police said. A third woman, 80, was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital for treatment after the crash.

Circumstances leading up to the incident are not yet clear, though NBC Philadelphia reports that a gray Jeep hit the three women was they were walking across the road.
