Ambler Man Who Killed Cat Sentenced To Up To 6 Years In Jail

The animal belonged to the man's girlfriend.

NORRISTOWN, PA — The Montgomery County who beat and killed his girlfriend's cat has been sentenced to two to six years behind bars, a judge ruled this week.

Michael Baker, 41, of Ambler, was convicted on felony animal cruelty charges, court documents show.

Baker was originally arrested back on Sept. 19, 2022 following a domestic disturbance call.

Police said that during an argument with his girlfriend, his picked up the cat and threw him down a flight of stairs and then against an exterior wall, killing him.

Pennsylvania updated its animal cruelty laws back in 2017, making much animal abuse a felony.
