Route 202 Construction Complete, Green Ribbon Trail Expands
PennDOT's three year project to widen and rehabilitate Route 202 is finished, allowing for an expansion of the trail.
LOWER GWYNEDD TOWNSHIP, PA — A lengthy construction project that widened and rehabilitated a three-mile stretch of Route 202 in Montgomery County is now complete, and a new connection has been made on the Green Ribbon Trail.
The three-year PennDOT project included replacing a bridge over Wissahickon Creek, which is near the three mile mark of Green Ribbon. That stretch of trail was closed throughout the construction work.
After construction was complete, Wissahickon Trails staff rerouted the trail and connected the space under the bridge to the existing pathway.
