Starwood New Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association Director of Development

Janet Starwood is founder and former executive director of the regional affiliate of the national Earth Force.

The Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association announced this week that Janet Starwood has joined them as the news Director of Development and Communications.

Starwood comes to WVWA with a background in fundraising, organizational development and community engagement. She is the founder of the regional affiliate of the national Earth Force, an environmental education organization where she served as Executive Director for nine years.

Most recently, she worked with the National Audubon Society as Director of Urban Conservation of Audubon, PA, where she focused on advancing a collaborative projected with the Philadelphia Outward Bound School to develop the East Park Leadership and Conservation Center.

In a release from WVWA, Starwood said, “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the outstanding staff, board members, and community supporters who have made WVWA the ‘go to’ organization in Montgomery County for protecting and restoring the Wissahickon Valley Watershed.  I’ve found the perfect perch on the Green Ribbon Trail for advancing a mission that is close to my heart.”
