The resolution demonstrates the Board of Supervisors’ vision to transition to 100% clean, renewable energy in the coming decades.
“Whitpain has a long commitment to environmental stewardship and this resolution marks the next step in our efforts to further enhance and protect the environment,” said Supervisor Joyce Keller. “Over the years, the Township has partnered with Wissahickon Trails to preserve approximately 750 acres of open space, we have been recognized with Tree City USA designation since 1994, and our Public Works Department has undertaken a number of important environmental initiatives including a plan to install solar power lighting in the parking lots at the Township Building and in Wentz Run Park.”
