Wissahickon HS Issues Update After Bullet Found Thursday
School was dismissed early Thursday after a bullet was found. The investigation is ongoing.

AMBLER, PA — Authorities said that Wissahickon High School and the larger community was never in "immediate danger" during Thursday's lockdown, which ensued after a bullet was found in the school and students were dismissed early.
The steps were taken out of an abundance of caution, and while nothing indicating that immediate danger was found, additional security is expected at Wissahickon in the coming days.

Police said they are continuing to investigate. At this time it's not clear where the bullet came from.
A student was found with a shell casing in his pocket, but police do not believe the two incidents are related, CBS Philadelphia reports.

"The Wissahickon School District is cooperating with police and will communicate further information to families as it becomes available," the district said in a statement Friday.
Meanwhile, students returned to classes on a regular schedule Friday.
