15 Things to Know About the Aces' State Championship Game

's boys' basketball team will play District 1 rival Chester for the state championship Saturday night in State College. Here are 15 things fans need to know about the game, provided by AcesHoops.com, the and the PIAA:
- Aces-Clippers is scheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday, but the AAAA boys' title bout is the fourth game of the day at the Bryce Jordan Center on the Penn State campus. Single-A girls play at noon, followed by AA boys at 2 p.m. and AAA girls at 6 p.m. The other four championship games are scheduled for Friday.
- As has happened several times during the Aces' playoff run, Patch will be posting real-time game reporting, commentary and photos and inviting readers to do the same. Check back for more details.
- The game will be televised live and replayed at 1:30 a.m. Sunday by Pennsylvania Cable Network; check local listings. Also, LiveSportsVideo.com will show PCN's footage live online for a fee of $5.99.
- Any remaining game tickets for students are available for $4 until noon Friday.
- Non-students can buy $8 tickets at the arena, or reserve a $50 bus-and-ticket package by emailing Elise Cotler at eliseg62@aol.com.
- Lower Merion High School will hold a pep rally at 2 p.m. Friday, covered for Patch by .
- The team bus will depart LMHS at 1 p.m. Saturday. The trip is estimated to take about three and a half hours.

- Some Aces fans making the trip but not attending the game are planning to congregate at Inferno Brick Oven & Bar in State College, starting at 3:30 p.m.
- Anyone with photos that feature Aces gear or photos from games is invited to post them .
- Lower Merion has won 29 of its 32 games. Chester has won all 31.
- Chester has averaged 78 points a game in the playoffs while allowing 47.5. Lower Merion has averaged 69.25 while allowing 48.
- The last time Lower Merion and Chester played each other was for the District 1 crown three weeks ago. .
- The last time Lower Merion and Chester played each other for the state championship was in 2005; Chester won, 74-61.
- The next year, in 2006, Lower Merion beat Schenley, 60-58, for its most recent state championship. Chester won last year's state championship.
