2 Lower Merion High Schools Among Best Philly In Suburbs: Philly Mag

Lower Merion and Harriton high schools were among the top 10 best in the region in a new ranking from Philadelphia Magazine.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — When it comes to local high schools, you won't find much better than the two in Lower Merion Township.

Philadelphia Magazine recently released its annual ranking of the best public high schools for 2024, and both high schools in the Lower Merion School District were named in the top 10.

The analysis, which lists the top 75 schools in the suburbs, takes several factors into account, including enrollment, graduation percentage, percent of students who go on to college, student-teacher ratio, as well as performance in specific academic subjects.

With those factors considered, Harriton High School was ranked No. 2 and Lower Merion High School No. 5.

Nearby, Radnor High School was named No. 4 on the list.

The only other Montgomery County High School to make the list was Jenkintown, which was ranked at No. 7.
