2 Shot Overnight In Lower Merion

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — Two people were shot "multiple times" overnight on E. City Avenue in Bala Cynwyd, Lower Merion Township police said.

An 18-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were shot multiple times just before 2:30 a.m. as they were sitting near the front entrance of More 101.1 FM, police said. Both are currently in stable condition after bringing themselves to Lankenau Hospital. Police said their injuries are not life-threatening.

The suspects fled the area in a dark-colored sedan, heading northbound on City Avenue.

Police do not believe it was a random act.

"This investigation is in the early stages, however, there is no public safety concern based on the preliminary investigation indicating that this was not a random act but may be connected to an altercation earlier in the morning," police said.
