Abington Boys Win 4x400 Relay At District I Championship

After taking first at the Penn Relays earlier this year, Jamir McClinton, Luke Coleman, Keith Axten, Tyler Abraham are now district champs.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The relay team of Jamir McClinton, Luke Coleman, Keith Axten, Tyler Abraham at Abington Senior High School have been crowned district champions.

The 4x400 racers competed in the District I championships this weekend at Coatesville High School.

Coming off the heels of two victories at the legendary Penn Relays in Philadelphia earlier this month, the foursome finished the race in 3:14.62, nearly two whole seconds ahead of the runners-up from Central Bucks West, crowning them District I champions in the relay.

Abraham and Coleman also finished third and seventh, respectively, in the boys individual 400 meter race, with times of 48.01 and 49.01.

In the girls 400, Dianna Coyle earned 20th place with a 1:00.04 time.

Junior Peter Murray came in 16th in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:57.25.

The boys 4x100 relay came in 11th with a time of 43.25.
