Police: Ardmore Man Arrested in Bank Robbery Also Faces 7-Eleven Robbery Charges

Ardmore resident Ardrick Alan Butler was charged in connection with the Havertown 7-Eleven robbery.

An Ardmore man in connection with the June 1 robbery of Ardmore's has also been charged in a May 25 robbery in Havertown, according to court documents.

The arrested man allegedly has admitted to the May 25 Havertown robbery, Chief Carmen Pettine told Haverford-Havertown Patch in an email over the weekend.

On June 1, 27, of Ardmore, in connection with the Sovereign Bank robbery that occurred Friday morning on East Lancaster Avenue in Ardmore.

Lower Merion police said that Butler entered the bank at approximately 11 a.m. Friday and presented the teller with a demand note. Allegedly, he fled, and police report that Butler was found in the restroom of the Ardmore train station and arrested.

, a man robbed the Havertown of lottery tickets with a gun on May 25.

Haverford Township police interviewed Butler, an Ardmore resident, while he was in Lower Merion police custody.

According to Haverford Township police, Butler allegedly admitted to robbing the Havertown 7-Eleven.

"I responded to Lower Merion Headquarters and interviewed Butler in reference to the 7-11 robbery. Butler did admit to the 7-11 robbery," Haverford Township Detective Mark Johnson stated in an email.

According to court documents, charges were filed against Butler in connection with the 7-11 robbery.

Court documents also indicate Butler was unable to post his $1 million bail and is still in Montgomery County jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. on June 21.
