Ardmore Residents Fight Back Against Luxury Apartment Development: Report

Do you agree with their stance?

A community group in Ardmore is fighting back against a developer that wants to turn a parking lot into a luxury apartment development.

The Save Ardmore Coalition sued Dranoff Properties in August, and a hearing on the matter was held Wednesday, according to Philadelphia Business Journal.

Their suit alleges that the $10.1 million which Dranoff received from the state, via the the Pennsylvania Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, is a misappropriation of public funds, the report states.

“Dranoff Properties is the only developer in Lower Merion Township - one of the wealthiest townships in Pennsylvania - to demand that taxpayer money subsidize the construction of a luxury apartment development,” Save Ardmore reportedly said.

Save Ardmore has been fighting Dranoff over the Cricket Avenue parking lot since 2008, the report states.
