Attempted Robbery Reported at Bala Cynwyd 7-Eleven

Lower Merion police are investigating Monday night's robbery attempt on West City Avenue.

Lower Merion police report that a suspect attempted to rob the 7-Eleven on the 100 block of West City Avenue in Bala Cynwyd earlier this week.

According to the report, at approximately 2:50 a.m. Monday, a 40 to 50-year-old black male with a beard wearing dark clothing entered the store and purchased a cigar.

As the clerk was closing the register, the man attempted to grab the money and implied that he had a gun. He then left the store and was last seen walking west on Oakland Terrace.

May 6, 2015: An overnight commercial burglary at Kirby Jewelers on the 500 block of City Avenue in Bala Cynwyd was discovered by officers responding to an alarm. Entry was gained by smashing glass doors, and the suspects took an unknown amount of jewelry. The investigation is continuing.

May 7, 2015: Several unlocked vehicles in the Merion Station area were entered. Once inside the vehicles, the suspects removed cash and loose change. Officers remind all residents to always lock vehicle doors and place valuables out of view.

An armed robbery occurred at the Vitamin Shoppe on the 700 block of West Lancaster Avenue in Bryn Mawr at approximately 9:50 a.m. on May 7. The suspect entered the store with a hammer and took cash and vitamin supplements. The investigation is continuing.

May 11, 2015: Officers responded to a burglar alarm on the 100 block of Valley Road in Ardmore at 9:30 a.m. Police found that an attempt was made to enter the home by prying a sliding glass door, but entry was not gained and nothing was taken.The investigation is continuing.

May 13, 2015: An attempted residential burglary on the 300 block of Greenwood Court in Villanova was discovered during an alarm activation investigation. Unsuccessful entry into the residence was attempted by prying a first floor window. There was no loss of property, and the investigation is continuing.
