Cat Rescued From Tree In Lower Merion Township

Lower Merion Township Police said a cat had to be coaxed down from the high branches of a tree Thursday.

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — A cat was recused from a tree in Lower Merion Township Thursday.

According to police, officers got a call about a cat stuck in a tree.

The cat's owner heard it meowing from above, police said.

Officers were able to get the cat back to the ground after "quite a bit of patience and coaxing."

Police said cats are not permitted to run loose in the township.

"Each day, loose outdoor cats in the township are killed by native predators, disease and vehicles," police said.
