The Dick Button Festival of Artistic Skating Comes to Ardmore

Gala Celebration and Weekend Festival Honor a Skating Legend
Featuring Olympic champions Paul Wylie and Nancy Kerrigan, world and U.S. champions, and five renowned artistic skating companies.

Ardmore, PA — Sept 12, 2025 — The Philadelphia Skating Club & Humane Society, with support from the Lisa McGraw Figure Skating Foundation, is proud to present the Dick Button Festival of Artistic Skating, a full weekend dedicated to celebrating the life, artistry, and enduring legacy of Olympic champion and skating innovator Dick Button.

The Festival begins on Saturday, October 4, 2025, with a Gala dinner and skating exhibition that brings world-class artistry to the ice. Olympic Champions Nancy Kerrigan and Paul Wylie, along with Katherine Scott of 6ABC will help open the exhibition, joined by fellow Olympian and US Champion Jeremy Abbott, U.S. champions Alissa Czisny and Kim Navarro and Brent Bommentre, and five of the world’s most respected artistic skating companies: American Ice Theater, Diversify Ice, Ice Dance International, Ice Theatre of New York, and The Next Ice Age. Together, they will showcase the creative spirit Button inspired—blending technique, innovation, and storytelling on the ice.

The celebration continues on Sunday, October 5, 2025, with a six-hour Artistic Skating Symposium, offering audiences and skaters the rare opportunity to engage directly with the art form. Through master classes, workshops, and performances, participants will explore the depth of Button’s influence on modern skating. Nancy Kerrigan will take part in the workshops, along with leaders and performers from the five participating companies.

“Dick Button forever changed the way the world sees skating,” said Laura Mitchell, PSCHS Board President. “This Festival reflects his pioneering spirit, uniting champions, companies, and audiences in a weekend that celebrates artistry as much as athleticism.”
