Fentanyl Seized In Lower Merion Traffic Stop: State Police
Pennsylvania State Police found 56 bags of suspected fentanyl in a vehicle they stopped on Interstate 76 in Lower Merion Township.
LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — A traffic stop in Lower Merion Township led to the seizure of dozens of bags of drugs, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Police said the traffic stop happened at about 11:41 p.m. on June 23 along Interstate 76 west in Lower Merion.
Troopers stopped a 2012 silver Kia Sorrento for multiple vehicle code violations, and during the stop troopers noticed "indicators of criminal activity" in the vehicle, authorities said.

The driver, identified as a 34-year-old woman from Hatboro, consented to a vehicle search, according to state police.
During the search, troopers found 56 bags of suspected fentanyl in the woman's purse.

She was taken into custody and charged, police said.
