I-76 Lanes Closing Overnight In Lower Merion, Philadelphia

Overnight line striping and barrier work on sections of Interstate 76 in Lower Merion and Philadelphia will affect traffic next week.

LOWER MERION-PHILADELPHIA — Line striping and barrier repair work along Interstate 76 in Lower Merion and Philadelphia will affect overnight traffic next week, according to PennDOT.

The work will begin Monday and last through Aug. 29.

Lane closures will be on Interstate 76 in both directions from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning.

Work will take place in sections between the U.S. 1/City Avenue and I-676 interchanges.

This work is part of a $37.9 million project to resurface and repair nearly five miles of the interstate, the associated on-and-off ramps, and more than 20 bridges in the City of Philadelphia and Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County.

Drivers should allow for extra time when traveling through the work areas because significant backups and delays may occur.
