Lower Merion Police Hiring, Salaries Start At $80K
LMPD officers can earn $128,122 as a senior officer. Benefits include paid vacation, healthcare, pensions, paid parental leave, and more.
LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Lower Merion Township are looking to add more members to their ranks.
The department is now accepting applications for the position of probationary police officer.
Probationary officers earn $80,427 as a base salary while attending the police academy and $90,172 with an Act 120 certification. Senior officers earn a base salary of $128,122, which is attainable after five years on the force.

Benefits are paid vacation, two weeks of parental leave, pensions, tuition reimbursement, and healthcare benefits that also include dental and vision coverage.
Lower Merion Police Officers are not required to live in the township.

Applications are available online here or pick one up at the front counter of the Lower Merion Police Station, 71 E. Lancaster Ave. in Ardmore.
The written examination is scheduled for May 17 at Harriton High School, 600 N. Ithan Ave. in Rosemont. A physical agility testing will take place on May 31, as well as June 1 if needed, at the Harriton High School Track. Sign-up information will be provided based on the written examination results.
A tiered signing bonus of $5,000 is being offered to all new hires. No college credits are required to apply.
All applications must be submitted by noon on May 5.
There is no fee to apply for this position, and Act 120 certification is not necessary to submit your application.
