Lower Merion Police Hosting Fall Citizens Police Academy

LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — Lower Merion Township Police announced its Fall 2025 Citizens Police Academy.
Citizens are invited to apply to the 10-week academy now.
Sessions will be held Mondays from Sept. 29 to Dec. 1. Each session will run from 6 p.m. to about 8 p.m.

All sessions will take place at the Lower Merion Police Department, located at 71 E. Lancaster Ave. in Ardmore.

- Organizational structure
- Criminal Investigations
- Use of Force
- Crash Investigations/DUI
- Emergency Response Team (ERT)
- K-9 Patrol
- UAS (Drone) Overview and Demonstration
- Forensic Pathology
- Criminal Justice System
Those who want to join the academy are asked to commit to attending all classes due to high interest. The academy is limited to 15 participants.
A minimum of 80 percent attendance is required to graduate from the program. Participants will have a graduation ceremony on the final night, where they will receive a certificate of completion.
The application deadline is Sept 22.
Participants must be 18 years of age or older. Residents of Lower Merion and surrounding communities are eligible to attend.
