Naomi Epstein, 14, a lifelong resident of Lower Merion, is set to compete at the USA Fencing Junior Olympics in Charlotte, North Carolina, from February 14-17. She will be fencing foil in the Women’s Cadet division but has also earned qualification for the Junior division, a testament to her skill and dedication.

Naomi is among a select group of fencers representing both Lower Merion and the greater Philadelphia area at this prestigious national event. While her focus is on performing well in Charlotte, she’s already thinking long-term, setting her sights on the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and even the 2032 Brisbane Olympics.

“At the age of 12, Naomi placed in the top 64 at Summer Nationals. It is no surprise that with her ability to overcome adversity and great work ethic, she will do well at Junior Olympics and Summer Nationals this year,” said Coach Jacob Cary, who has worked with Naomi since she was 10 years old.
