Police Blotter: LM Cops Report Copper, Credit Card, and Grocery Thefts

The following information has been supplied by the Lower Merion Police Department. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

On Monday afternoon, Lower Merion police reported to news media the following incidents from the past week in Ardmore:

Theft: Credit cards were stolen from an office on the third floor of Lankenau Hospital sometime on April 2, police said. The cards were taken from inside a wallet and were used at Suburban Square, police said.

Theft: Two 10-foot sections of copper downspouts were stolen on April 3 from a home on the 400 block of Bolsover Road in Wynnewood, police said. The homeowner was awoken at about 11:40 p.m. to a loud banging noise, police said. The value of the copper downspouts is about $500.

Retail theft: Loss prevention officers at Genuardi’s at 3:09 p.m. on April 7 observed a woman put several items in a basket, go into an aisle and put the items into a handbag before exiting the store without paying for the items, police said. The total value of the items was $29, police said. Dawn McDonnell, 42, of the 100 block of E. Athens Avenue in Ardmore, was charged with felony retail theft, police said. McDonnell has three prior retail theft convictions, police said.
