Second Ardmore Development Tabled, For Now: Report

Cricket Avenue in Ardmore could be a very different place in just a year or two.

ARDMORE, PA -- Discussion of a second major apartment and retail development on Cricket Avenue in Ardmore has been reportedly tabled for the time being.

The Lower Merion advisory board charged with considering the proposal said Tuesday that they want more time to consider the ideas put forth by the developer, Main Line Media News reports.

It’s due for further review at the upcoming board meeting on February 2.

The proposal from developers Pete Staz and Peter Spain would create a five-story mixed use building on 47-65 Cricket Avenue.

It’s a separate entity from the controversial Dranoff Properties development just down the road on Cricket Avenue. After a lengthy court battle, developers finally won out with approval for that project in December.

Opponents of both projects stress the scarcity of parking in Ardmore and the influx of traffic caused by the building of hundreds or thousands of new apartment units.
