Spectators Fleeing U.S. Open
A siren was sounded Thursday morning to alert the players and spectators to leave the course.

At the McDonalds at the corner, MaryAnn and Ron are waiting out the storm.
The Flourtown couple hired a driver to bring them to the U.S. Open Thursday morning, but instead of the spectator gate he dropped them and another couple at the McDonalds where they are riding out the storm. They are hoping they will get to see some golf action before noon.
As the rain pours and thunder and lightning storm they are waiting it out over coffee and tea.
At the Haverford R100 station a Bryn Mawr couple that did not want to be named for this article had just fled the course.
"They sounded a siren to alert the players and spectators to leave the course," explained the man under his big black golf umbrella." We're just going to go home and wait it out. Our passes are good for the whole day so we're hoping play resumes and we'll come back later today."
As the rain started falling the platforms along the R100 in Haverford and at the Ardmore station started to see a steady stream of people lining up for a ride home or at least a ride to somewhere dry.
