ARDMORE, PA — Thousands of people flocked to Ardmore last weekend for the annual Ardmore Day festival in Schauffele Plaza.

More than 4,000 people came to the Ardmore Business Association's annual community event, according to Ardmore Business Association President Nina Greberman.

"This event continues to grow every year," Greberman told Patch. "It’s a wonderful way to celebrate our local businesses and bring the community together in the heart of Ardmore."

Attendees enjoyed family friendly activities, food, fall festivities, local shopping, and the Spooktacular Scavenger Hunt, where children trick-or-treated at participating Ardmore businesses.

Families got in on the fun with bumper cars, mini golf, and a trackless train, free face painting, caricatures, live music, and giveaways.

The day also featured Eagles mascot Swoop and the Eagles cheerleaders.

And, of course, the Ardbark Dog Parade once was the day's highlight.

"The dogs were dressed to the nines again," Greberman said. "My favorite was the owner/dog duo winner — she was in her bathrobe with a wash cloth, and her dog was the bathtub, complete with bubbles and a rubber ducky on his back."

With Ardmore Day in the rearview mirror, the Ardmore Business Association is gearing up for its next event: the Holiday Tree Lighting & Santa’s Arrival.

That event will be held at 6 p.m. Nov. 28 in Schauffele Plaza

Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive on a fire truck to kick off the holiday season, with hot chocolate, cookies, and photos with Santa for everyone to enjoy.
