Utility Work Closes Lower Merion Roads This Week

Gas and water main work will affect traffic patterns in the township for the next few days.

Drivers traveling around certain Lower Merion neighborhoods may find themselves looking for some alternate routes this week. Some utility work planned throughout the township will cause some road closures for the next few days.

The first project is a water main installation taking place on Morris Road in Wynnewood. The street will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. between Clothier Road and Ballytore Road beginning Tuesday and lasting for approximately five days. Emergency vehicles, buses and local residents will have access whenever possible, the township says.

The closure will more to Ballytore Road and Wyngate Road on Morris next week.

The second project is some gas main work that has been sequestered to the overnight hours in Ardmore. Anderson Avenue, between Lancaster and Montgomery avenues will be closed from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting Monday and lasting through Friday. Emergency vehicles will not have through access, detours will be posted.
