1 Killed, 1 Hurt After Tree Falls Along Main Line Thoroughfare Sunday
A 59-year-old woman died after a tree fell on her car and another along Lancaster Avenue Sunday afternoon in Wynnewood, authorities said.
WYNNEWOOD, PA — One woman is dead and another recovering after a tree fell on two vehicles along Lancaster Avenue in Wynnewood Sunday.
According to Lower Merion Township officials, the incident happened at about 1:44 p.m. Sunday on Lancaster Avenue near Stanford Drive in Wynnewood.
Authorities said a blue Toyota Corolla and a white Nissan Altima were heading west when a large tree fell into the roadway.

The tree struck both vehicles.
The driver and sole occupant of the Toyota, a 59-year-old woman, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Lankenau Hospital by Narberth Ambulance. She was pronounced deceased at 2:20 p.m. Her identity was not released by Lower Merion officials.

The Nissan's driver, a 64-year-old woman, was taken to Lankenau Hospital for treatment and is listed in stable condition.
Lancaster Avenue was closed between Remington Road and Clover Hill Road for about five hours while the incident was under investigation.
