2 Thefts from Saks Fifth Avenue, Police Say

Lower Merion police reported the following incidents to news media at a Monday briefing. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

Retail theft: A 22-year-old Broomall man was cited for retail theft on April 1 at Saks Fifth Avenue in Bala Cynwyd after stealing a pair of $200 sunglasses, police said. Store security told police they saw the man remove a pair of Rayban sunglasses from the display case, remove the sensor and place them in his pocket, according to the report. When the man left the store, security was waiting and took him into custody, after which he was turned over to police.

Retail theft: A 68-year-old Philadelphia man was cited for retail theft after placing a bottle of cologne in a bag without paying for it at Saks Fifth Avenue, police said.

Theft: An iPhone 4S, valued at $200, was stolen from Joe’s Crab Shack around 11 p.m. on April 2, police said. The complainant left her phone on the table, then returned to find it missing.
