1. The Narberth Borough Council is set to swear in as the police department's sixth officer. The council meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday.

2. The Narberth Avenue bridge remains closed to vehicles , after a PennDOT inspection. The borough's Bridge Committee is holding a public meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24.

3. Penn Valley weight-loss doctor begins Monday morning; he is charged with sexually assaulting six patients at his Conshohocken clinic.

4. There will be a public hearing at 6 p.m. Wednesday for those with opinions about Lower Merion Township's plan to ease restrictions for those trying to put former houses of worship to new uses.

5. Another public hearing, on a plan to raise trash-collection fees 9 percent, is likely to be scheduled for Oct. 17, if the Board of Commissioners approves the relevant item Wednesday night.
