More Than $575 in Soap Stolen From Pharmacy, Police Say

The giveaway: two bottles of Vaseline cocoa butter lotion in one robber's back pocket.

Over $577 in soap products were stolen from the Bala Cynwyd CVS late Tuesday evening, Lower Merion police told news media at a Monday briefing. 

Police responded to the CVS at 12:14 a.m. March 5 on report of a theft in progress. A store clerk told police he saw two bottles of Vaseline cocoa butter lotion in a man's back pocket as he left the store, according to the report.

Surveillance footage showed that two men arrived together at 12:12 a.m. in a red newer model four-door sedan, possibly a Chevrolet Cavalier.

The first man entered the store and began filling up a black plastic bag with soap products, including Dove soap, Caress products, Victoria’s Secret cocoa butter and more. A few minutes later, a second man entered and began shoving items into his jacket and pockets, police said.

The robbers are described as: a black male wearing blue jeans with worn out knees, a grey hooded sweatshirt with a black hood and writing on the front breast of the shirt, tan workbooks and a black knit cap.  The second man is described as a heavy-set black male with tan jeans, black shoes and black hooded sweatshirt, wearing a blue or black bubble vest, police said.
