$7,000 in Valuables Stolen From Penn Valley Home, Police Say
The thefts occurred over the span of several months, according to Lower Merion police.

Lower Merion Police Department reported the following incidents to news media at a Monday briefing. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.
Theft: An estimated $7,000 in valuables has been stolen from a home on the 400 block of Hidden River Road in Penn Valley within the past few months, homeowners told police this week.
Officers responded to the house on April 11 upon the homeowners’ discovery that some of her jewelry was missing, according to the report. In the past several months, a digital camera, part of a coin collection and several pieces of jewelry have been stolen from the home, according to the owners, together valued at $7,000. The investigation is ongoing, police said.

Retail theft: A 23-year-old Bryn Mawr man was charged with retail theft after he stole a black aluminum wallet from the City Avenue CVS on April 9, police said.
Police responded at 4:23 p.m. after a store employee told police that he had observed a man who unwrapped a wallet from its packaging, walked around the store for several more minutes, then placed it in his backpack without paying and left the store, according to the report.

Police later stopped a man matching the thief’s description walking near the store. They searched his backpack and recovered the wallet, police said.
