Belmont Hills Civic Association in Search of New President

About 15 people attended the Belmont Hills Civic Association's monthly meeting Monday night.

Topics of discussion included:

• President Barb Carlin announced the association will be looking for a new president, with her job set to take her overseas frequently.
• Treasurer Denise Mann reported that five new households have joined the civic association, raising membership to 80 households.
• Secretary Jody Kelley urged residents to lock cars and houses after a : "With crimes of opportunity ... don't give them the opportunity."
• Members voted overwhelmingly in support of the Lower Merion Board of Commissioners using  to pay for government projects expected to make progress in the near future.
• Civic leaders said they would try to get Rep. Pam DeLissio's help convincing Conrail to allow trash pickup on its right-of-way through Belmont Hills.
• Members discussed the prospect of a neighborhood social, likely some Thursday night at the , at which Belmont Hills artists—many live on Jones Street and Jefferson Street, Carlin said—could display their work.
