Coin-Collection Thief Ditches Jewelry, Police Say

On Monday afternoon, reported to news media the following incidents from the past week in the Narberth-Bala Cynwyd area:
- Burglary: A home on the 400 block of Levering Mill Road was reported burglarized at 6:22 a.m. June 23, police said. A collection of Susan B. Anthony dollar coins was taken, and a jewelry box had been taken from its usual spot but dumped out elsewhere in the house.
- Retail theft: A man stole four Michael Kors watches, worth about a combined $1,000, from about 6 p.m. June 23, police said. A skinny, goateed black man in his early 30s, standing about 5 feet 10 inches and wearing a gray T-shirt pocketed the watches and ran out of the store, escaping on foot toward St. Asaphs Road, police said.
- Burglary: A home on the 100 block of Derwen Road in Bala Cynwyd was broken into on the afternoon or evening of June 22, police said. A window had been broken to allow the door to be unlocked; about $13,000 worth of jewelry was reported missing.
- Public intoxication: A man was found passed out at the wheel with his car running about 3 a.m. June 19 at the on Belmont Avenue, police said.
