Home Sales Up Big in May

In May, the Narberth-Lower Merion area saw significant increases in home sales and mixed returns on prices, according to statistics from Prudential Fox Roach.

Eight houses sold in Narberth, up from five in April and six in May 2011. The median sale price was $318,000, off about $60,000 from April and $50,000 from May 2011.

In Bala Cynwyd, eight homeowners sold in May, down from 10 in April and equal to the eight sales of May 2011.The median sale price of $430,000 was slightly higher than in May 2011 ($414,000) but significantly higher than this April ($317,500).

Throughout Lower Merion, 88 houses sold in May, up from 53 in April and 58 in May 2011. The $537,500 median sale price was close to that of both comparable months.
