Joe's Crab Shack Opening Announced

Joe's Crab Shack is days away from debuting in Bala Cynwyd, a little more than a year after the prior tenant of the space, Houlihan's, .

The seafood restaurant will open at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, at 555 City Ave., the company announced Friday. The fourth Joe's Crab Shack in the state, it will employ 170 people and accommodate 366 diners. Visitors to its website can check out the restaurant's menu.

The Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce will cut a ribbon to the restaurant 15 minutes before the opening, after which the first 100 patrons will get vouchers for a free bucket of snow crab every month for a year, the company announced.

Customers in the first month also can get coupons in exchange for donations to the nonprofit Autism Speaks.
