Lower Merion Student Punched Assistant Principal in Head, Officials Say
A 17-year-old is facing assault and other charges.

A 17-year-old Lower Merion High School student is being charged with assault and related charges after allegedly punching the school's assistant principal in the head, Lower Merion Township spokesman Tom Walsh confirmed.
The incident occurred after school hours on Thursday.
The assistant principal was treated at Lankenau Hospital and later released.

The juvenile will be held at Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Center, Walsh said.
