Mama's Pizzeria in Bala Cynwyd Gets CNN Shoutout For Cheesesteaks

CNN Medical producer Matt Sloane blogged Monday about what makes a good cheesesteak, getting some of his tips from Paul Castellucci, owner of in Bala Cynwyd.

Sloane said he is a Philadelphia-area native and Mama's is his favorite cheesesteak destination.

Castellucci gave Sloane tips about how to cut the meat and what kind of griddle and spatula to use, but the restaurateur didn't reveal all:

When asked about his choice of cheese, Castellucci said more than I've ever heard him say on the subject.

"We have a blend of three different cheese that we use on ours, but it's kind of our personal signature," he says. That's code for, "Nice try, but I'm not telling you."

Mama's is closed today, but Patch is reaching out to Castellucci for comment on the CNN mention.
