Man Falls Asleep While Waiting for Cab

Lower Merion police find a man asleep on the side of the road in Bryn Mawr.

Police arrested a man and cited him for public drunkenness after he was found asleep on the side of the road near the intersection of Baintree Road and Montgomery Avenue at 4:46 a.m. on Nov. 24.

Police received a report of a man lying on the side of the road in that area, and they arrived on the scene to find a 21-year-old asleep.

When police managed to wake the man, he told police that he was waiting for a cab.

Police reported that the man's eyes were glassy, he had slurred speech, and that he smelled of alcohol.

Police determined that he was a danger to himself and placed him in custody.

Once they arrived at the police station, officers determined that his blood alcohol level was .133
