Officer Quinn's Funeral Mass Set for Saturday
The Lower Merion police officer committed suicide Monday morning, according to authorities.

A memorial Mass will be held Saturday morning in Bryn Mawr for Lower Merion Police Department Officer Sean Quinn, who died Monday, the department announced Wednesday.
The ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Mother of Good Counsel, at 31 Pennswood Road, to be followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery in Villanova.
Before the ceremony, friends and family will be received at Our Mother of Good Counsel from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m.-10:15 a.m. Saturday.

Quinn, 46, a 25-year veteran of township police, died Monday morning in a Philadelphia park of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to authorities.

Officer Quinn, a married father of three, received 32 Letters of Commendation during his career with the Lower Merion Police Department. He received one Unit Commendation Letter, and was recognized by the Philadelphia 76ers with a “Hometown Hero Award” for his many services as a D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) Officer and a CPR/First Aid/AED Instructor.
He is remembered fondly by many former students and their parents at the Lower Merion School District, where he was instrumental for years in the D.A.R.E. partnership with the schools there.
Additional training completed by Officer Quinn includes certification as an Internet Safety Instructor, a 9-1-1 call taker, and as a certified mentor to other D.A.R.E. instructors.
