Police Activity: Fires, Thefts and Cracked-Up Cars

Lower Merion police responded to 244 calls last week throughout Narberth, Bala Cynwyd, Belmont Hills and Penn Valley, exactly the same number as , department records show.

In the past week, the police calls (which do not necessarily indicate arrests were made or charges filed) include:

• 1 DUI case
• 3 fires, including a  at which an officer suffered smoke inhalation after trying to enter
• 1 fraud case
• 2 car accidents with injuries, including one involving a pedestrian
• 18 car accidents with property damage
• 2 cases of public drunkenness
• 9 thefts
