Police Blotter: Burglary at Harvard Road Home

On Monday afternoon,  reported to news media the following incidents from the past week in Narberth and Bala Cynwyd.

DUI: At 2 a.m. on July 17, an officer on patrol observed a car stopped on Meeting House Lane at Manayunk Road in the turning lane with no turn signal on. The car suddenly accelerated to a high rate of speed. When the officer caught up to the car, it slowed to about 10 mph. The officer stopped the vehicle and cited a 39-year-old Merion Station man with driving under the influence, driving under suspension and refusal, police said.

Theft from vehicle: On July 17 between 6:45 and 9 p.m., a car parked outside in Bala Cynwyd had its rear passenger side window broken. Stolen was a black Coach purse containing cash and credit cards. The credit cards were used in Philadelphia at Wawa and Burger King, according to police.

Burglary: Sometime between July 19 and 21, a home on the 600 block of Harvard Road in Bala Cynwyd was burglarized, according to police. The burglar entered through a rear door using force and ransacked the home, police said, and it is unknown if anything was taken.

Theft from apartment building: Between June 19 and July 14, an estimated $35,000 in jewelry was discovered missing from an apartment complex at the unit block of Conshohocken State Road, according to police. Among the missing items is a 14-carat gold bracelet, earrings with jewels and an 18-carat yellow gold ring, police said.

Public drunkenness: At 4:45 a.m. on Saturday, four 22-year-old males were cited for public drunkenness at Bryn Mawr Avenue and Levering Mill Road, according to police. Police responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle and approached two males who were soaking wet after one of them stumbled into a hedge. The other two, also wet, were found shortly later. All cited for public drunkenness, police said.
