Police Blotter: Thefts Reported in Bala Cynwyd, Penn Valley

Lower Merion police reported the following recent crimes and incidents in a media briefing Monday afternoon:
Theft: Police said someone broke into a vehicle in the Bala Cynwyd Shopping Center between 11:50 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Aug. 25. The back window was broken in, and a gym bag containing racquetball equipment and electronics, valued at $745, was stolen from the vehicle, police said.
Theft: A theft that occurred between June 10 and Aug. 25 was reported from McClenaghans Mill Road in Penn Valley Aug. 25. Police said a couple thousand dollars worth of jewelry and electronics were determined to be missing from the residence. Residents were on vacation a lot this summer and began noticing different things missing before they realized they had been stolen, police said. No force was used to gain entry, police said.

Theft: Copper downspouts were reported stolen Aug. 26 from a Bala Cynwyd home on the 100 block of Clwyd Road. Police said the homeowner did not notice the gutters were missing until it rained. Three 20-foot lengths of downspout of unkown value were stolen, police said.
