Pregnant Woman, Unborn Child Fatally Struck By Vehicle On Main Line: Police
Lower Merion Police said a physical altercation ensued after a vehicle struck five pedestrians, killing a pregnant woman, Saturday.
BALA CYNWYD, PA — A pregnant woman and her unborn child died after they were struck by a vehicle Saturday afternoon in Bala Cynwyd, Lower Merion Township Police said.
According to police, the woman, 36, and four others were struck by a vehicle at about 2:47 p.m. on West Rock Hill Road near the intersection of Bryn Mawr Avenue in Bala Cynwyd.
The woman and her unborn child later died at a hospital due to their injuries, police said.

The four other pedestrians are being treated at an area hospital for their injuries. Their conditions are unknown.
Police said the vehicle that struck the five pedestrians also struck two vehicles.

After the crash, police said a physical altercation ensued, but authorities did not provide further detail on the altercation.
Police have not announced any arrests or identified anyone involved in the crash as of Saturday night.
The Lower Merion Township Police Traffic Safety Unit is investigating the crash.
West Rock Hill Road was closed for about five hours during the incident.
