Royal Bank Reports Narrower Losses

Royal Bank America lost $934,000 in the fourth quarter of 2011, reported Friday.

That makes 14 straight down quarters, the Philadelphia Business Journal reported. However, according to the company, the loss was the smallest of 2011—after losing $1.5 million in the first quarter, $4.2 million in the second and $1.9 million in the third—as well as a fraction of the $15.7 million lost in the fourth quarter of 2010.

Royal Bank reported losing $8.6 million in 2011, after losing a combined $93.8 million in 2008 through 2010.
