The family of Shane Montgomery is seeking the community’s help taking down the thousands of missing posters that were shared throughout the area in the search for the 21-year-old.
Montgomery’s body was found Saturday in the Schuylkill River in Manayunk. The Roxborough native and West Chester University student went missing early Thanksgiving morning after spending an evening out with friends in Manayunk. For weeks, his family and friends searched for him using social media, posters, billboards and more.

Now, his family needs assistance taking down the thousands of posters.
“If anyone is out and about and sees any of the missing posters, please take them down and recycle them. It is impossible for one person or a few people to take down the thousands of signs, but if everyone takes one or two down we should be able to get most of them down relatively quickly. Please leave the green ribbons for now. Thanks again for your assistance, prayers, and support,” a post to the Help Find Shane Montgomery Facebook page said.
