Sunshine, 'Fruitvale Station' Screening Coming Tuesday
Happy Tuesday, Narberth and Bala Cynwyd. Here's a few tips on making it to tomorrow.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Tuesday's here again. Below are few bits of intel that can help you make it through the day (mostly) unscathed. If we missed anything that might be of use, tell us about it in the comments below.
- Government: At 6:30 p.m., a conditional use hearing will be held at the Lower Merion Township administration building's caucus room regarding 310-324 Righters Mill Road in Gladwyne. An applicant wants to convert a church on the property to an apartment house, among other changes. For more information on the hearing, read the agenda here.
- Fun: Fruitvale Station, a critically acclaimed film based on the true story of a young man who was killed by a police officer at an Oakland subway station in 2009, has been wowing audiences and critics alike since it was released earlier this year, and has taken on new resonance for many since the verdict in the Trayvon Martin case. The Bryn Mawr Film Institute is running the picture now, and will continue to do so through August 8. On Tuesday, the movie screens at 4 p.m., 7 p.m., an 9:30 p.m.
- Traffic: Check out the PennDOT traffic cameras to get a beat on how traffic looks this morning. A prediction: not great.
- Weather: The forecast calls for sunshine with highs in the low 80s. Temperatures should dip into the mid 60s overnight, with a 10 percent chance of rain.
- History: Per the History Channel, on this day in 1965, Lyndon Johnson signed Medicare into law and enrolled, as the program's first member, former president Harry Truman. I know it's hard to imagine given how smooth the implementation of the Affordable Care Act has been, but there was actually quite a bit of controversy around Medicare's passage 48 years ago; with some prominent conservatives even suggesting the entitlement was a threat to freedom.
