Thieves Hit 22 Unlocked Cars in a Week

Lower Merion police on Monday reported 22 break-ins to unlocked cars in the past week.

The amount of break-ins was greater than in an average week, although unlocked cars are typically the most common targets of thefts from vehicles in the township.

The locations of the break-ins and the dates they were reported are below.

June 19

• 400 block Shortridge Road, Wynnewood
• 900 block Bowman Ave, Wynnewood
• 200 block Kent Rd, Wynnewood (3)
• 800 block Wickfield Rd, Wynnewood

June 20

• First block Montgomery Avenue, Bala Cynwyd (3)
• 100 block Highland Circle, Bala Cynwyd
• 100 block Maple Avenue, Bala (items taken included an estimated $4,500 worth of golf clubs)
• 600 block Greythorne Road, Wynnewood (3)
• 600 block Fariston Road, Wynnewood (2)
• 600 block Latham Road, Wynnewood
• First block Highland Avenue, Belmont Hills
