Baldwin Man on Republicans, Hypocrisy
Nick Balandiat is the author of this letter.

Nick Balandiat, of , wrote a Jan. 9 letter to the editor of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that calls politicians, especially Pennsylvania Republicans, hypocrites.
"Our politicians in Harrisburg have given themselves a raise of several thousand dollars while they are trying to cut a multibillion-dollar state budget deficit," Balandiat writes. "Hypocrisy? Oh yeah! Where's their sacrifice?"
Balandiat says that those in the state Legislature have "slashed education and health care" and "even threw people off Medicaid in droves." However, they now "receive more money for themselves through an automatic cost-of-living adjustment."

Balandiat says that "Republicans have wanted to cut the state budget to the bone for years," and now, "when they win control of all the branches of state government, they give themselves a raise!"
